With distracted driving legislation coming into effect September 1, we would like to take
the opportunity to highlight the importance of safe driving by having people promise to
several safe-driving habits by taking our Text-Free Oath.
Although the oath pokes fun at some of the bad habits drivers have behind the wheel,
the message behind the campaign is a serious one – Hands off the phone. Hands on the
wheel.
Weʼre proud to support safe driving and you can too. Post a video of you taking our Text-
Free Oath on our Facebook page and YouTube Channel to show your support for safe driving. Have your family and friends take the
Oath as well and pass on the message that will make our roads a little safer for
everyone.
I swear to be a safe driver.
I swear to pay attention to what matters.
I swear to adjust my attitude behind the wheel - not my radio, or my heater, or my seat.
I will signal - not email or text, while changing lanes.
I will watch for changing road conditions - not Facebook updates.
I will use my mirrors to check for other vehicles - not to check my hair or makeup.
I will eat my meals at tables - not at stoplights.
I swear to keep my hands off the phone, and on the wheel.
So everyone can get home safely.
